These symptoms are the most common complaints, but worn steering and suspension components are much more than an annoying squeak, as they make up one of the most important but often overlooked safety systems of your vehicle. Just like our bodies, the moving components of your car’s steering and suspension wear out with age – we call it ‘carthritis’. The good news is a regular inspection which we do at every scheduled service, can identify any problems. This allows them to be addressed quickly and before knock on effects like poor tyre wear, or finding yourself in an emergency stop or swerve situation with steering and suspension components that are just not up to the task. Did you know that travelling at under 50kph, just one worn shock absorber out of the four on your vehicle can increase braking distances by up to 2 metres – this can make all the difference.
